Privacy Statement
This Privacy Statement explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use Sanskar Academy's learning platform and mobile app.
Last updated: July 26, 2026
1. Information we collect
We collect information that you provide directly to us when you:
- Create an account or update your profile

This may include your name, email, phone number, address, date of birth, payment details (processed through third‑party gateways like eSewa), and any other information you choose to share with us.
2. How we use your information
We use your information to:
- Provide and manage your access to courses, events, and consultations
- Process payments and maintain transaction records
- Send you important updates about your enrollments and account
- Improve our courses, platform, and customer support
- Send you relevant promotions or offers (where permitted by law)
We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your data for purposes unrelated to providing and improving our learning platform.
3. Cookies and analytics
We may use cookies and similar technologies to:
- Keep you signed in to your account
- Remember your preferences (such as language or theme)
- Understand how learners use our platform so we can improve the experience
4. Third‑party services
We may share limited information with trusted third‑party services that help us run the platform, such as:
- Payment gateways (e.g. eSewa, Nepal Payment, banks, card processors)
- Google Sign-In for account authentication
- Email and SMS providers
- Cloud hosting and storage providers
These partners are required to protect your data and use it only for the specific services they provide to us.
5. Mobile app (iOS)
The Sanskar Academy iOS app is a native wrapper that loads our learning platform at https://www.sanskaracademy.net. Most data collection happens through the website inside the app, under the same terms as when you use the platform in a browser.
The app may request device permissions only when you use related features on the platform:
- Camera: to take photos for assignments, scan documents, or join video sessions during online classes
- Microphone: to participate in live classes or record audio responses for assignments
- Photo library: to upload existing photos for assignments, profile pictures, or course materials
- Location (when in use): only if you choose to use location-based features on our website, such as finding nearby academy services or events
The app uses cookies and similar storage in the WebView to keep you signed in and remember your preferences, consistent with Section 3 above.
Payments made in the app are processed through third-party gateways (e.g. eSewa, Nepal Payment). We do not store full payment card details on our servers.
Push notifications are not currently active in the iOS app. If we enable them in the future, they will be optional and used for course updates, enrollment reminders, or similar account-related notices. You will be able to manage notification permissions in iOS Settings.
To request deletion of data collected through the app or website, follow the process in Section 9 below.
6. Data security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Your rights
Depending on applicable law, you may have the right to:
- Access and update your personal information in your profile
- Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
- Request deletion of your account (subject to legal or accounting requirements)
- Opt out of marketing communications at any time
8. Data retention
We retain your personal information only as long as necessary to provide our services and meet legal or business requirements.
- Account and profile data: retained while your account is active. If you request account deletion, we delete or anonymize personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
- Course enrollment and learning records: retained while you are enrolled and for a reasonable period afterward so you can access certificates and purchase history.
- Payment and transaction records: retained as required for accounting, tax, and legal compliance (typically up to 7 years, or as required by applicable law in Nepal).
- Support and consultation form data: retained as long as needed to respond to your request and for follow-up, then deleted or anonymized when no longer needed.
- Cookies and session data: retained according to your browser settings and our cookie practices (typically until you log out or clear cookies).
9. How to request deletion of your data
You can request deletion of your personal data or account at any time by:
- Email: Send a deletion request to [email protected] with the subject line "Data Deletion Request".
- Include: your full name, registered email address, and phone number (if used on your account).
- We will verify your identity and process your request within 30 days.
What happens when you request deletion:
- We will delete or anonymize your account and personal profile information.
- Some information may be retained where required by law (e.g. payment and transaction records for tax and accounting purposes).
- Enrollments tied to completed courses or certificates may be anonymized rather than fully deleted where needed for record-keeping.
